Amazing at this stage what our perceptions were! We realised the engine was 'bunched' but until the rest of the floorboards and woodwork was lifted...only then did we realise the extent of damage that a water tank filler without a cap, and no hose can do. Essentially the boat was filling with water (at least it was fresh water), but the boat was full of water up to floor level and probably had been so for three or so years.

ReplyDeleteMy family built Cait Na Mara !! We spent our summer holidays on her in Carlingford tied up at Kings John Castle Pier and our winters cleaning her up for the next season of fun.
